Suggested Aircraft Arrival Procedures
Be alert to the new field changes. The field layout is very different than in previous years. There is a taxi-way parallel to 5-23 and its traffic flow will be opposite to the active runway.
There will be no mid-field turn-offs.
Low and slow aircraft should consider landing near mid-field so everyone exits the runway at the far turnoff to the parallel taxiway.
Unicom CTAF is 122.7
Suggest pilots make a radio call to identify their positions to local traffic that they are "over the town of Dinwiddie" to differentiate the town from the Dinwiddie County Airport. The town is 7nm from the airport.
Proceed single file NE at 1500 feet msl over I-85
While enroute monitor the KPTB AWOS on 133.325 for any special safety notes and for the active runway
Abeam the two small lakes and drag strip on your left, descend to pattern altitude of 1000 feet msl
If runway 23 is the active, follow normal pattern procedures for a left downwind for runway 23
If runway 5 is the active, continue NE till abeam the large "Dinwiddie County" water tower on your right. Then turn crosswind and follow normal pattern procedures for a left downwind for runway 5
Runway 32-14 will be closed by NOTAM
During the airshow, runway 5-23 will be closed by NOTAM
After landing, tune to 121.75 for ground advisories and then proceed ahead to the next intersection where ground personnel will direct you to parking
There will be NO intersection take-offs
Warning: There may be Ultralight, Powered Parachute, Glider or Balloon activity in the airport airspace at any time during the period of the fly-in.
